When Calls the Heart is an American television drama series which was developed by Michael Landon Jr. inspired by Janette Oke’s book titled “When Calls the Heart” from her series Canadian West. The series began airing in the United States on January 11, 2014, on the Hallmark Channel and on Super Channel in Canada, on April 16, 2014.
The series originated in October 2013 from a two-hour-long television movie pilot with Maggie Grace playing the role of young teacher Elizabeth Thatcher and Stephen Amell playing the role of Wynn Delaney a Royal North-West Mounted Police officer.
When Calls the Heart Season 9 Episode 3 Release Date
The third episode of When Calls the Heart season nine, titled “Turn of The Page” is scheduled to release on March 20, 2022. When Calls the Heart is currently being telecasted on Hallmark at 9 p.m. ET/PT every Sunday. The duration of the episode is expected to be approximately 39-84 minutes, similar to the previous episodes of this season. It follows the second episode, “Out Like a Lamb” and will be continued by the fourth episode, “Straight from the heart ” which will air on March 27, 2022.

When Calls the Heart Season 9 Episode 1 Recap
The season opens with Elizbeth speaking a quoting what Jane Austen said. She has just from visiting her family in Hamilton for a month but is glad to be back of course not just because she is meeting Lucas. They share a kiss as she gets down and Elizabeth’s son Jack played by Hyland Goodrich is shown. He greets Lucas with “Hey buddy”
Everything is going well with the new couple, Lucas trying to show Elizabeth that he thinks that she and Jack are more important than work, he even steps away from his oil business as stated in the previous season.
During a hotly contested mayoral race, Elizabeth returns to the town. The two frontrunners are Lee Coulter and Bill Avery with Hickam in third place. Fiona, unfortunately, drops out of the race which means that there won’t be another female mayor in Hope Valley this time.

Even though some are defacing Hickam’s posters Hope Valley is extremely friendly. The speculation is that it’s Cooper Canfield who in the troublemaker period much to the dislike of Father Joseph, currently tops plays goes to Bill which angers Lee who wasn’t even able to get his Wife Rosemary to endorse his candidacy. However, she is the new editor of Valley Voice and as such has to be impartial to him.
On the other hand Mountie, Nathan is coping with heartbreak by growing a mustache, he is completely on his own. For reasons that aren’t clearly explained his adopted niece Allie from the last season has gone to stay at her grandparents’ place, but her absence may be temporary.
Despite being rejected by Elizabeth the two are still on friendly terms that they talk when they meet in the streets. He even swallows his pride and asks her if Lucas could teach him how to drive. But Elizabeth suggests that she teaches him herself.
Mei Sou arrives at Hope Valley and she quickly walks past Nathan while being dressed in a long black coat and hat concealing herself. She sheds her attire and that’s when Nathan notices her the two share a flirtish moment in a salon seen later on. It is revealed that she is the pharmacist who has met Faith and her husband was hired by Faith to work at the town’s newly opened pharmacy, but she arrived before him.
When Calls the Heart Season 9 Cast
Erin Krakow plays the role of Elizabeth Thatcher Thornton. Elizabeth Thatcher is a passionate young teacher who comes to the valley from the city.
Chris McNally plays the role of Lucas Bouchard. Lucas Bouchard is a businessman who owns the Gowen Petroleum and the Queen of Hearts saloon. He later donates a building to Elizabeth, to open a public library for the town.
Kevin McGarry plays the role of Nathan Grant. Nathan Grant comes to Hope Valley with his adopted niece, Allie. Nathan develops feelings for Elizabeth but is turned down by her.
