The Devil Is A Part-Timer, written by Satoshi Wagahara, is a Japanese light novel with Oniku drawing illustrations. The series has been published by ASCII Media Works and in North America, the series has been published by Yen Press.
An anime adaptation was produced by White Fox with Naoto Hosoda as the director, It had 13 episodes and aired from April to June 2013.
The story follows Sadoa Maou who is a Demon Lord from Ente Isla who was teleported to modern-day Japan with his General, Ashiya, during the fight against the Hero Emilia Justina and her companions. Once on earth, he took on a human form. In order to live in Japan, he takes on the name Sadoa Maou which is similar to his name back in Ente Isla, Satan Jacob, and works in MgRonald’s as a part-Timer, later being promoted to the Assistant Shit Manager.
The Devil Is A Part-Timer Season 2 Release Date
On March 6, 2021, at the 2020 Kadokawa Light Novel Expo, the announcement for the second season of “The Devil Is A Part-Timer” was made. The second season will also have the same voice-acting cast as before. It will be animated under Daisuke Chikushi’s directing in 3Hz with character designs done by Ydai Lino and Yoshihito Takeda as the Chief animation director. The season will air in July 2022.

The Devil Is A Part-Timer Season 1 Recap
The first season of The Devil Is A Part-Timer follows the story of the demon lord Satan who wants to conquer and rule of world of Ente Isla by bringing its continents under his domain with the help of his generals Alciel, Malacoda, Adramelech, and Lucifer. After the death of Malacoda and Adramelech, the hero Emilia and her companions confront Satan forcing him to retreat along with Alciel from Ente Isla to modern-day Japan. However, both of them lose a significant part of their magic power and end up taking human forms. In order to live in Japan, Satan becomes a part-timer at MgRonald’s a fast-food restaurant while Aciel becomes his housekeeper. Sadao Mao which is Satan’s alias meets a girl named Emi Yusa who is in fact the hero Emilia who comes to end his life. The story shows the characters of Ente Isla trying to face the dilemmas of the new world comically.

Ryōta Ōsaka is the Japanese voice actor while Josh Grelle is the English voice actor.

Emi Yusa is the hero who confronts demon lord Satan Jacob along with her companions. After Satan was forced to retreat from Ente Isla, she follows him to modern-day Japan to ensure that he is fully destroyed. She loses most of her magic powers on earth and takes on the Japanese name Emi Yusa similar to her old name Emilia Justina. She works as an employee in a call center.
Shirō Ashiya also known as Alciel
Japanese voice given by Yūki Ono and English voice given by Anthony Bowling
Shiro Ashiya is one of Satan’s trusted generals who along with him is teleported to modern-day Japan. Ashiya is extremely loyal to Satan and even after transporting be takes care of all the household work and searches for ways to go back to their former state. He takes up the name Shiro Ashiya which is similar to his previous name Alciel and works as Satan’s housekeeper.
