Shirobako, produced by P.A Works, is an anime series that aired on Tv with 24 episodes. The series was directed by Tsutomu Mizushima. The series aired between October 9, 2014, and March 26, 2015, on Japanese television. The series also had its own manga adaptation that was serialized by Dengeki Daioh one of ASCII Media’s magazines on September 4014. There was also a novel adaptation that was published by Shueisha in January 2015. As of February 29, 2020, the series also got a movie adaptation that followed a storyline after four years of the first season of the anime.
The series is centered around Aoi and her four friends in their school’s animation club who promise to create an anime together in the future.
Shirobako Season 2 Release Date
Shirobako’s first season premiered on October 9, 2014, ending with the twenty-fourth episode on March 26, 2015. The anime is centered around a slice of life and the creation of anime brought in many fans. Not only was the anime well received it gained enough popularity for it to gain its own movie which was titled Shirobako: The Movie. The movie was released on February 29, 2020. The anime followed an original storyline and so does the movie. The film takes place four years after the first season which leaves man wondering if there will be a second season.
There has been no announcement as of yet with the immense popularity the series has gained a second season can be expected sometime in the future.

Shirobako Season 1 Recap

The plot of Shirobako revolves around the main protagonist Aoi Miyamori and her close four friends, Shizuka Sakaki, Misa Tōdō, Ema Yasuhara, and Midori Imai. All five of the dream to be a part of the anime industry and promise each other that they would make anime together after being in the same animation club back in high school. Years later all of them managed to land a job in Musahino Animation. With Aoi working as the production assistant, Ema working as a Key animator, Shizuka as a voice actress, Misa as a 3D designer and artist, and Midori as a writer. The story follows Aoi, her team, and their struggles in Musahino Animation as they work on two completely different projects. One is a manga adaptation anime and the other is an original anime series.

Shirobako Season 1 Characters

Aoi Miyamori
Aoi Miyamori is the main protagonist of the series SHIROBAKO. She has just finished college and managed to get a job in the production department at Musani Animation. Aoi has caramel-colored straight neck-length hair that is swept to the right side and has large greyish green eyes.
Ema Yasuhara
Ema Yasuhara is one of the main characters of the series SHIROBAKO. She was initially a part of Musashino Animation as a key animator before quitting to become a freelancer four years later. Ema has two forest green eyes with chest-length black hair that is parted and tied with two small white hairbands.
Midori Imai
Midori Imai is one of the main characters of the series SHIROBAKO. Midori is a fairly young college student with a rather short and slim build. She has blackish-purple hair that she wears in a high pony tied to the side with a white color hair tie. She also has greyish purple eyes.
Shizuka Sakaki
Shizuka Sakaki is one of the main characters of the series SHIROBAKO. Shizuka’s dream is to become a professional voice actress. She has a wavy red hip length that’s she ties into a messy bun and she has a pair of sky blue eyes.
Rinko Ogasawara
Rinko Ogasawara is one of the supporting characters in the series SHIROBAKO. Rinko has various different jobs in Musashino Animation such as the character designer, key animator, and general animation supervisor of Exodus!. Rinko is a beautiful young woman who has curly light blonde hair that reaches to her thigs. Her hair is curled tightly towards the end like drills and she has dark red eyes with a black headband on her head.
