There is going to be a game based on your favourite long-running anime, One Piece, and it might be released very soon, even sooner than expected.
The year 2022 marked the 25th anniversary of the still-running manga and anime, One Piece, and to commemorate this special anniversary, the producers and developers have decided to release a game based on it, which has excited the market and the fans a lot. The game is being developed by ILCA and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. The game was announced on March 28, 2022, as part of the One Piece franchise’s 25th anniversary along with its other projects, which also included its highly anticipated movie. The characters of the game are drawn by the original mangaka of One Piece, Eiichiro Oda.
One Piece Odyssey Release Date
Despite being announced in March, there’s no specific release date yet, but we know One Piece Odyssey is coming in 2022. The earliest that it is expected to come out is either November or December (well, obviously). But we do not know if the developers have other plans to release it next month. Well, who knows?

One Piece Odyssey Characters

The game will primarily focus on the Straw Hats, a pirate group comprised of Luffy, Nami, Zoro, Sanji, Usopp, Chopper, Robin, Franky, and Brook.

One Piece Odyssey Story
One Piece Odyssey is based on the manga and anime originally written by Eiichiro Oda and focuses on Luffy, a young boy who wants to become a great pirate and find the hidden treasure of One Piece. On his journey, he is joined by a lot of his friends who become part of his pirate gang, called the Straw Hats. One Piece is not just an average action anime, but it also falls under fiction as there are a lot of fictional and fantasy elements involved in it. Luffy and his friends face a lot of opposition, but they overcome it with their brave and pure hearts while making friends with even God himself. The interesting part is that Luffy and his crew members are not normal humans or pirates; they each have some strange qualities, like the immense elasticity of Luffy, etc., which they gain by eating some sort of strange fruit.
The game will be majorly based on this storyline while focusing only on the Straw Hat members and not much of the other gangs in the story. We do learn that the story and new characters will all be original creations of the creator, Oda, even though many details about the plot were not detailed at all.
One Piece Odyssey Trailer
The trailer for the game was made available on the same day of its announcement and can be watched on the Bandai Namco Official Youtube Channel. It begins with a picture of the Straw Hat ship partially submerged on an island beach where there are some caves and a temple shown. Then we see Luffy and his crew members climbing, hunting for treasure, and generally exploring. A mysterious figure is seen approaching Luffy’s abandoned hat in the sand as the trailer comes to a close.
