Log Horizon is an animated Japanese anime series based on the Japanese light novel written and illustrated by Mamare Touno. The anime belongs to the fan-favorite Isekai genre, in which the main protagonist is transported into a fantasy world. It is a sci-fi MMORPG, an open world based on a video game, and an anime created by Satelight, which is also known for its work on other anime such as Fairy Tail and White Album.
A virtual world called “Elder Tale” serves as the scene for this story. Many MMORPG concepts related to the fantasy world are adapted in Log Horizon. For the most part, the series does a good job of telling stories. No matter the game mechanics—combat, politics, or even cooking—each episode presents something fresh to the viewer. Even though the series has a unique survival philosophy, it is not its only subject. Instead, it uses a formula made up of concepts in varying degrees that link the entire story. It distinguishes Log Horizon as a distinctive series by emphasizing an internal level of conflict and warfare. Additionally, it doesn’t overdo the comedy, drama, or even romance while still maintaining the overall theme of the story. Naturally, there is also action available, which gives the show’s sequences life. The way characters engage in combat using their class-based skills adds to its appeal and entertainment value. No one is overlooked; even party members who serve as healers have important roles to play.
Log Horizon Season 4 Release Date
The first season of Log Horizon began in 2013, and it ran for 25 episodes until March 2014. Season 2 debuted in October of the same year and ran for a further 25 episodes until March of 2015. After a protracted hiatus, the show resumed production on its third season, which would consist of 12 episodes and be titled “Fall of the Round Table.” It was originally scheduled to air in October 2020, but COVID 19 forced a delay until January 2021.
The show has not yet been canceled or renewed by the show’s creator, and fans are getting anxious as to whether it will return for the new season. Considering the last gap between the seasons, this long break should not worry us as there are chances that the show might return after 2 years of hiatus.

The show has a rating of 7.94, 7.58, and 7.05 for each consecutive season on MyAnimeList, which is quite impressive. Considering these and the fans’ positive responses, the popularity of the show must not be a problem for the producers to continue it and give fans their long-awaited season 4.
Considering all the factors, the show must return for season 4. We can expect any positive news soon, at the end of 2022, with the premiere somewhere in 2023.

Log Horizon Season 4 Story
The light novel was adapted for Log Horizon’s first three seasons until volume 14. It centers on a group of people who get trapped in an alternate reality of “Elder Tale,” a made-up online video game they play together. So the new season will begin in volume 14 of “Twilight Orphan” as a starting point. If so, viewers may witness Shiroe and the other “Elder Tale” heroes’ journey to the Chinese servers in order to locate their missing ally, Krusty.

Shiroe voiced by Takuma Terashima
Shiroe, the main character, is an Enchanter-Scribe who is Half-Alv. He founds the guild Log Horizon as an experienced Elder Tale player to help the city of Akiba recover from the catastrophe. In the real world, he was Kei Shirogane, a 23-year-old engineering graduate student with 8 years of Elder Tale experience.
Akatsuki voiced by Emiri Katou
She is a human Assassin-Tracker and one of Log Horizon’s founding members. A tall male assassin with purple eyes and hair served as her original avatar in Elder Tale. Akatsuki changed her gender and size to look more like herself after getting an appearance reset potion from Shiroe. She went by the name Shizuka Hanekura and was a college student in the real world, where she was incredibly petite.
