Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, also translated as The Weapon of Brahma – Part One: Shiva in Hindi, is an upcoming Bollywood film that stars Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, and Ranbir Kapoor. The original language of the film in Hindi. It is produced by Karan Johar, Namit Malhotra, Ranbir Kapoor, Marijke Desouza, Apoorva Mehta, and a new producer, Ayan Mukerji, under the renowned Indian label, The Dharma Production, known for a number of internationally successful Indian films, along with Starlight Pictures and Prime Focus. It had a total budget of 300 crores in Indian currency. Other than its original language, the movie will be dubbed and released in many other Indian languages like Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.

The film was planned and announced well in advance of its actual release date, which is in 2014. But the movie’s production was repeatedly put on hold because of various obstacles, and it was delayed as a result of COVID 19. From February 2018 to March 2022, there were five years of principal photography. However, after years and years of waiting, the movie will finally be released on September 9, 2022, in theaters. Star Studios will release it in all picture formats, including 3D and IMAX 3D, in India and internationally, and Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures will distribute it.

Ranbir Kapoor, one of the producers and the film’s lead actor, confirmed that the film is not a typical Bollywood romance, but rather a “romantic fairytale in a supernatural format.” When Karan Johar first announced the film in 2014, it was only a single film, but he later postponed it, stating that he had changed his mind and would release it as a trilogy, with Brahmastra Part One: Shiva being the first in the series. The trilogy is set in an alternate universe named “Astraverse”, after which the trilogy is also named. They intend to release it over a ten-year period. The film was originally titled “Dragon,” but the title was later changed to “Brahmastra.” After much planning and preparation, the film began shooting on February 24, 2018, and finished on March 29, 2022, in Varanasi, taking more than 4 years to complete.

After years and years of patiently waiting, we will be getting the most anticipated movie of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in September. Now that its poster, promotional video, trailer, and everything is revealed to the public, fans Can’t stop wondering whether the movie is actually based on or somehow related to the Shiva Trilogy? We took up this article to help you answer this question. So to know more. Keep reading the article.

The Shiva Trilogy is a book series consisting of three books: The Immortals of Meluha, The Secret of Nagas, and The Oath of the Vayuputras. Amish Tripathi wrote the series, and after many setbacks, the first book was released on February 10, 2010, becoming so popular that it had to be reprinted several times to keep up sales. It is based on the radical idea that all Gods were once human beings, and it was their actions in human life that earned them the title of God. The book contains characters from Hindu texts as well as those created by Tripathi’s imagination, the former do not retain all of their classical characteristics. It takes place in the Amish’s imaginary universe, also known as the “Amishverse.”

Astraverse and Amishverse, two distinct verses, are used in both the movie and the book. The movie, based on the recently released trailer, is set in the present day despite the book taking place in the distant past, even before Gods became Gods.

Even though the main characters of both are somewhat similar, they both differ in their own contexts. The characters in the book are based on real Hindu deities and the author’s imagination, but according to Ayan Mukherji, the characters in the movie are based on Rumi, a Persian poet, Hanafi faqih, Islamic scholar, and Sufi mystic who was born in Greater Khorasan in Greater Iran in the 13th century. They also took inspiration from Rumi’s work, “Love is the Bridge Between You and Everything,” to build the foundation of the film. However, later it was revealed that the Rumi-inspired look was scrapped and Kapoor, whose look was inspired by him, had gotten a haircut instead. In short, the characters are different too.

The following is a synopsis of the book’s plot: Meluha, also known as the Indus Valley civilization, is thought to be the original birthplace of these Super Gods. They engaged in behavior that would not be typical of locals. As a result, they were elevated to the status of gods. Surprisingly, Shiva is portrayed as a cattle herder who lived in the Himalayan foothills before becoming the powerful God we know today.

The story of the film centers on a man named Shiva who embarks on a journey of love and self-discovery. We can infer from the trailer that he encounters numerous evil entities that pose a threat to our existence along the way. As can be seen, the two stories are completely dissimilar from one another in terms of both the setting, characters, and story.

We can therefore safely infer that the two are distinct and that the film Brahmastra Part One: Shiva is not based on the book Shiva Trilogy by Amish Tripathi.

But from the beginning, this was not the case. Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions purchased the film rights to The Immortals of Meluha, the first book in the Shiva Trilogy series of books, in January 2012. Johar stated that he was “blown away by the world of Meluha and riveted by Triphati’s creation of it.” It was confirmed that the director was studying both the screenplay and the finer points of the production. Amish Tripathi announced in January 2015 that the movie adaptation was in production and would have the highest budget of any television show. Tripathi served as a creative consultant and script reviewer as Malhotra began turning the story into a movie script.

But the author disclosed in May 2017 that Dharma Productions had renounced the film rights as a result of the contract expiring. Tripathi claimed that a new contract had been signed with an unidentified film studio, despite media reports that Johar had canceled the project out of concern for any negative publicity surrounding the production of a movie about an Indian deity.

In conclusion, the movie was originally going to adapt an Amish book from the Shiva Trilogy series, but after thinking about how devoted Indians are to their beloved God and how doing anything to upset their belief in God would result in a boycott, Karan decided against doing so and instead wrote a somewhat similar script for the movie that does not make direct reference to the Indian God, Shiva. Despite stating this, nothing can be said for sure. There’s a chance that the movies and books will have some things in common. Only after the film has been released will the similarities and differences be apparent. It appears from the trailer that Amish Tripathi’s Shiva trilogy is not mentioned. It can only be determined after the film has been screened in theaters.
