Horimiya originally called Hori-san to Miyamura-kun or simply Hori and Miyamura is a Shonen web manga series that originates from Japan. Hiroki Adachi serves as the writer and illustrator of the series and has a pseudonym of Hero. The series was self-published on Hero’s website named Dokkai Ahen starting from February 2007 to December 2011 in a four-panel format. Square Enix compiled the chapters in ten volumes under its imprint Gangan Comics from October 2008 to December 2011 and gave the series a print publication. Daisuke Hagiwara later adapted the manga under Hero’s supervision under the title Horimiya. This was later serialized in Monthly G Fantasy starting from October 2011 to March 2021 and is published in English by Yen Press. Clover’s works developed the anime television series adaptation of Horimiya which aired from January to April 2021. On 17 September 2020, a 13-episode anime television series adaptation of Daisuke Hagiwara’s Horimiya was announced. Clover works animated the series, Masashi Ishihama served as the director of the series and Takao Yoshioka handled the composition of the series along with Haruko Iizuka designing the characters and Masaru Yokoyama composing the music for the series.

Horimiya Season 1 Recap
The story of the series revolves around Kyoko Hori who is a bright and popular high school student standing in contrast to her classmate Izumi Miyamura who is a gloomy and seemingly nerdy, glasses-wearing boy. Hori is a homebody who dresses down and looks after her younger brother named Souta at home. Trying not to disrupt her social status and cause others to worry she makes every attempt to hide this fact from her classmates. He had been accompanied by a boy who introduces himself as Miyamura and had numerous piercings and tattoos. They agree to keep their true identities concealed from their peers even when she is dressed down after recognizing Hori. However, they learn they have more in common than they originally thought when the two begin to learn more about each other over time. They agree to assist one another in keeping their after-school identities a secret together. The two suddenly find themselves closer than ever as time passes.
Horimiya Season 1 Characters

Kyoko Hori
The character is voiced by Asami Seto and portrayed by Sayu Kubota in the live-action series. She is a beautiful, bright, popular high school girl who takes on a different look at home dressing down and removing her makeup, tying her hair back, and doing housework while taking care of her little brother.
Izumi Miyamura
The character is voiced by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka and portrayed by Ōji Suzuka in the live-action series. He appears to be a gloomy pseudo-otaku fanboy with glasses and keeps to himself at school but is rather good-looking and laid back outside of school with a punk-styled look and nine piercings as well as tattoos.
Souta Hori
This character is voiced by Yumiko Kobayashi and portrayed by Haru Takagi in the live-action series. He is Kyoko’s little brother. Izumi brings Souta back to his home after tripping and getting a nosebleed where Souta constantly asks his sister to invite his new friend to come back.
Toru Ishikawa
This character is voiced by Yoshimasa Hosoya and portrayed by Jin Suzuki in the live-action series. He likes Kyoko and befriends Izumi when he noticed the two are spending more and more time together and learns of Izumi’s secret about tattoos and piercings.
Yuki Yoshikawa
This character is voiced by Nobunaga Shimazaki and portrayed by Akira Onodera in the live-action drama. He is Kyoko’s childhood friend and the student council president who is seen as a bit weak but is very much capable.
