The show featured Helen McCrory, Paul Anderson, Tom Hardy, Sophie Rundle, Finn Cole, Joe Cole, and Cillian Murphy. The show made it through six seasons over the last decade. The story starts some time after the end of World War I when Tom Shelby and his brothers return to Birmingham. The second oldest Shelby, Tom (Cillian Murphy) is the mastermind of all the crimes while the oldest brother, Arthur (Paul Anderson), is the nominal head. Tommy banished him from the family along with his wife Gina when he proposed that he should be the sole head of Peaky Blinders. Michael then decides to go solo and opens a narcotics business in the USA. But Tommy frames him and sends him to prison. Later in the sixth season of the show, Polly is murdered by the IRA after Tommy attempts the assassination of Oswald Mosley. Michael then decides to seek revenge on Tommy by killing him. After his release, Michael sets up a plan with Gina’s uncle Jack Nelson to kill Tommy with a car bomb. This plan backfires and Tommy and Michael come face to face for the last time, where Tommy shoots him through the eye.

During Michael’s time in prison, he dreams about his mother, Polly, and the last moments he spent with her. He is reminded of her warning as well as a vision. In the dream he sees Polly bringing a crystal bowl of water to him and Gina. She warns him as he goes ahead with his he should consider the possibility of a war. Later she is seen pricking his finger and letting his blood drip into the crystal bowl of water, following the images of her caravan burning come upon the screen. He remembers Polly’s prediction of war in the family and the death of one of them. In the scene, Tommy’s image flashes in Polly’s mind, and a look of concern arises on her face. It is believed that Polly chooses Michael over Tommy in the moment of conflict and her use of Michael’s blood sets up a curse over Tommy. The look of concern on her face is believed to imply Tommy’s victory over Michael. Hence the fans believe that the scene in the first episode of the sixth season of the show was a hint of what was coming up later in the season.
Are Peaky Blinders Making a Comeback for the Seventh Season?
The show will not be continued for the seventh season as the death of actress Helen McCrory has led to the end of the series within six seasons. But there is still some good news for the fans. On multiple occasions, director Stephen Knight has said that the show might continue in other formats. He has also stated that there has been a desire to end Peaky Blinders with a movie. The movie is expected to start production in 2023. The movie is rumored to have untold stories from World War II.
