Chicago P.D. is a police procedural action drama television series that originates in the United States of America. The series has been created by Dick Wolf and Matt Olmstead as a part of Wolf Entertainment’s Chicago franchise. The series first premiered on NBC in the form of a mid-season replacement on 8 January 2014. The show follows the Intelligence Unit of the 21st District of the Chicago Police Department and the uniformed patrol officers as they pursue the offenders of the city’s major street offenses.
NBC renewed the series for an eighth, ninth and tenth season on 27 February 2020. The eighth season of the series first premiered on 11 November 2020 and the ninth season of the series first premiered on 22 September 2021. The series is filmed entirely in Chicago and the exterior of the station house is the Old Maxwell Street Police Station located on 943 West Maxwell Street and in the same location that was used in the series called Hill Street Blues. Universal Television production of the seventh season was shut down due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on 13 March 2022 but resumed shortly.
Chicago P.D. Season 10 Release Date
Although there are widespread rumors on the Internet that the Season 10 of Chicago P.D. has been canceled! Such is not the case. The most anticipated season of Chicago P.D. will not be canceled and although there is no official news about the release date of the 10th season of Chicago P.D. there are chances for the series to be revived shortly and we may see it be released during the latter half of 2022. One can expect Season 10 of Chicago P.D. to be premiered in November 2022. The season is expected to have the same number of episodes as compared to its previous seasons that is it would follow a Twelve-episode format.

Chicago P.D. Recap
The series is a spin-off of Chicago Fire and focuses on the fictional 21st District. It houses patrol officers and the department’s elite Intelligence Unit which is led by Detective Sergeant Hank Voight is portrayed by Jason Beghe. The show shifts to focus on the Intelligence Unit from the second half of season four on after both Officer Kevin Atwater portrayed by LaRoyce Hawkins and Officer Kim Burgess portrayed by Marina Squerciati has advanced to the Intelligence Unit but the first three seasons and the first half of season four focus on both the patrol and Intelligence officers.

Chicago P.D. Cast
Jason Beghe portrays the role of Sergeant Henry “Hank” Voight who is the chief of the Chicago P.D.’s Intelligence Unit. He is loyal to the cops and detectives serving under him and highly “dedicated” to the victims of the crimes despite his brutal and tough exterior. Voight worked in the Gang Unit prior to taking command of Intelligence. His father Richard was killed in the line of duty and was a former CPD officer.
Jon Seda portrays the role of Senior Detective Antonio Dawson who is an Intelligence Unit detective who previously arrested Voight for harassment and has since worked alongside him. He has limits on how far he will go to get criminals off the streets unlike Voight as shown by the fact that he asked Halstead to stop Voight from killing anyone while on the hunt for Pulpo in order to not get it on his conscience. He is offered a job at the State’s Attorney’s Office as Lead Investigator in season 4 which he accepts. He returns to the unit in the first episode of season 5 after becoming disillusioned with the job.
Sophia Bush portrays the role of Detective Erin Lindsay who is a tough Intelligence Unit detective and former CI whom Voight took under his wing when she was a juvenile delinquent. Jesse Lee Soffer portrays the role of Detective Jay Halstead an Intelligence Unit detective who was Detective Lindsay’s partner.

As the shooting for season 10 of Chicago P.D. has not yet begun, it is a little tricky to know exactly when it would be out but one can expect it to be released one month prior to the release of Season 10.
